A boat with 63 migrants on board was rescued tonight, at the edge of national waters, by the Coast Guard patrol boat Cp 312. In the group of people from Egypt, Eritrea, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea and Ghana, also two women.
The boat, which left Libya, was left adrift and all the migrants after the transshipment on the rescue unit were taken to the Lampedusa hotspot where a total of 644 guests arrived.
Meanwhile, throughout the night, the searches between Lampedusa and the islet of Lampione of the 9 missing after the shipwreck that occurred at dawn yesterday continued – with the patrol boats of the Coast Guard, the Carabinieri and the Finance Police. No bodies have been recovered yet.
