12:45 – No problem with green passes in Milanese airports
There are no problems at the Milanese airports of Linate and Malpensa on the day of the introduction of the European green pass. Checks are made before departure at check-in while they are not provided, according to the law, on arrival. It is the Usmaf (i.e. the maritime, air and border health offices) and the police who may decide on random checks. Today there are 49,000 passengers in transit at Linate and Malpensa, between arrivals and departures, with numbers slightly increasing in anticipation of a more significant growth in the next few days and especially in August thanks to vacationers.

Green light from the City Council of Milan to the tariff plan of the Tari 2021 which introduces some reliefs for businesses and families affected by the economic crisis resulting from the health emergency. Companies forced to close following the government measures of recent months will enjoy a 100% relief on the variable part of the tariff. The 50% cut is instead foreseen for domestic users of some categories of families. “There was an important contribution from the government to support the relief but the operation, of considerable financial weight, was possible above all thanks to the solidity of the financial statements of Palazzo Marino”, commented the councilor for the budget, Roberto Tasca . Expenditure foreseen to cover the subsidies of companies is 36 million euros, of which 24 are financed by the government. On the other hand, the expenditure for families is 5 million euros and provides for a 50% reduction in the variable part of the tariff. “With this intervention we are able to cancel 6 months of Tari on 2021 from all the activities affected by lockdown – commented the leader of the PD group at the Municipality of Milan, Filippo Barberis -. A strong and very concrete signal of the efforts that as an administration we are determined to do to support citizens and categories most in difficulty “. Satisfaction was also expressed for the provision by Confcommerico Milano. “The cancellation, for this year, of the variable part of the Tari – underlined Marco Barbieri, general secretary of Confcommercio Milan – leads to a substantial overall saving for companies, 36 million euros, with significant reductions and a concrete benefit for activities that produce more waste “. According to the first estimates of Confcommerico with this measure, for example, a bar of 100 square meters will pay 723 euros less this year than in 2019 and 434 euros less this year than in 2020. For a 1,000 square meter hotel it will be 1,725 euros less this year than in 2019 and 1,035 euros less this year than in 2020.
