Tomorrow, Saturday 3 April 2021, a set will be set up on the upper floor of the Jean Nouvel pavilion of the Fiera di Genova for the filming of the television series “Survivors”, international co-production Rai Fiction, France Télévisions, Zdf, Rodeo Drive, Cinétévé shot and set entirely in Genoa. Among the most used locations are the areas managed by the Old Port of Genoa.
After using some spaces between Calata Gadda and Piazza Loading as a set and planning some scenes in the Marine area of the Fair, the production will move on Saturday morning to the immense seafront space of the fair structure to shoot the scenes of the arrival of the survivors, celebrated by family members, journalists and authorities. To welcome them there will also be the president of Porto Antico Mauro Ferrando. «The Levante Waterfront with its Jean Nouvel pavilion – he commented – attest to the composite soul of Porto Antico-Fiera di Genova. Here coexist, in the same moment, the desire to satisfy the public DNA, with the vaccination campaign that is taking place on the ground floor, and the exhibition soul, in all its charm, as the set of an important television drama ».
Survivors, directed by Carmine Elia, former director of highly successful series such as Mare Fuori and La porta rossa, is a twelve-episode mystery-drama; among the Italian interpreters Lino Guanciale, Barbara Bobulova, Camilla Semino Favro, Vincenzo Ferrera, Giacomo Giorgio, Pia Lanciotti, Fausto Maria Sciarappa, and Alessio Vassallo.
At the center of the story is the Arianna, a sailboat built in a Genoese shipyard that sets sail for an ocean crossing with twelve passengers on board. After a few days of navigation, due to a violent storm, the boat disappears from the radar. A year later, the wreck was found with only seven people still alive. What happened to the others? What secret are the survivors hiding?
