TRENTO. The Merano actress Daniela Scarlatti (made famous by her participation in the soap “One step from heaven”) will play, in the film “Passio Christi” by Michele Placido, broadcast in national premiere on April 2, a version in Trentino dialect of the “Stabat Mater” prayer, attributed to Jacopone Da Todi.
The film is based on the texts of Mario Luzi, Dario Fo and Franca Rame, with the parts relating to the biblical psalms edited by Mani Ovadia.
“Stabat Mater it is a prayer of the people, which in its translation into Trentino, with some terms translated into Rovereto and Italian, assumes even more truthfulness “, explains Scarlatti.
The actress personally translated and adapted the original Latin text of the thirteenth-century prayer. The parts played by Scarlatti in the film were shot in the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara and in the church of San Giuliano, also in the Este city.
