Coronavirus, the data – 1,273 infections with 84 thousand swabs: stable positivity rate of 1.5%. Another 65 victims

Net decline, as usual over the weekend, in the number of daily coronavirus infections in Italy. According to the latest bulletin released by the Ministry of Health, there are 1,273 new positives recorded in the last 24 hours in Italy, against 2,275 yesterday. This compared, however, to 84,567 swabs processed, almost half of the 149,958 of the previous 24 hours. This keeps the positivity index stable at 1.5%. The number of victims is increasing from 51 yesterday to 65 today.

On the other hand, 5,024 people have been discharged or healed in the last 24 hours, a number which consequently causes the decline in the currently positive ones which drop by 3,819 in one day to 188,453. This allows a further decrease in pressure on Italian hospitals, now all well below the risk threshold. The number of beds occupied in intensive care decreased by another 15, with the total falling to 759 throughout the country. On the other hand, 283 fewer are employed in the other Covid departments, thus falling below the threshold of 5 thousand, reaching 4,910. Finally, there are 182,784 people in home isolation, down by 3,751 compared to yesterday.

Analyzing the data region by region, it is noted that in absolute daily infections the most affected is Campania with 177. Lazio follows with 170, Tuscany with 160, Sicily with 156 and Emilia-Romagna with 155.
