A recent study carried out in China would have found the effectiveness of tea for lowering the glycemic index. The blueberry would be able to lower blood sugar levels, thanks to a substance contained in it: glucokinin. According to this study, sage tea should “help” insulin work in diabetics and be able to keep blood sugar levels at bay in people with type 2 diabetes.
Red tea originates from southern China and comes from the maceration of the Camelia sinensis plant. Research published in the 2009 China Daily newspaper claimed that this tea could have healing effects similar to those of a diabetes drug. The studies also monitored some laboratory mice. The genetically obese were given red tea, the others injected with a drug suitable for lowering blood sugar.
It was noted that the mice that received the red tea showed greater improvement than those treated with the drug.
