Tomorrow 8 September – at 10 am – the new gymnasium of the University of Messina, at the premises of Mariani Palace (ground floor, corner Corso Cavour / Via Loggia dei Mercanti). The new facility, available to UniMe students and the entire citizenship, has been equipped with the tools useful for all hall activities (including free weight training) and will be open to the public from Monday 13 September. Inside there will also be an area suitable for collecting reservations, in full compliance with the anti-covid measures currently in force.

At the inauguration, together with the Rector, prof. Salvatore Cuzzocrea, will be present the Vice Rector, prof. Giovanni Moschella, Silvia Bosurgi, President of the UniMe SSD (Amateur Sports Society of the University that will manage the gym) the Directors of the Company, Pietro Ambra and Giuseppe Quattrone and other exponents of university governance.

Guest of the inaugural event will be the 27-year-old Messina parathlete Carolina Costa, who recently won a splendid bronze medal in Judo for the visually impaired (category + 70 kg).
The gym, ready in 2020, is revealed to the city one year late due to the pandemic.
