CArmine Di Muro is the new manager of the Sports Medicine for the Livornese area (Livorno, Etruscan and Elba valleys) going to fill the position left vacant after the retirement of Daniela Becherini.
Di Muro, 61, graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pisa, specialized in Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine. He worked for the Sports Medicine of Livorno from 2002 to 2007 before moving to the USL of Viareggio where he organized walking groups that have become a model and reference at the regional level. He is a member of the Control Commission for sports facilities, company contact
for the “Gaining health” project and for the national network for prescribing physical exercise in the pre and post transplantation coordinated by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.
“I am happy to be back in Livorno – says Carmine Di Muro – and I am convinced that Sports Medicine represents one of the emerging specialists in health care of the present and the future. In these first months of taking office I have been mainly concerned with ensuring a new structure for the network present on the territory of the whole province. In particular, Dr. Marco Pallini who will dedicate himself exclusively to the outpatient clinic of
chickpeas flour pie, while Dr. Natalia Fortunata Gelonesi was appointed for the Piombino office also completely dedicated to this venue. The outpatient clinic present on the Island of Elba it will be treated by Dr. Natalia Aprile. In the coming months there will be initiatives to spread the culture of movement among citizens of all ages as a fundamental form of prevention and maintenance of their own state of health ”.
