Bordighera. They were inaugurated this morning by the mayor Vittorio Ingenito and by the members of its municipal council, the “new” Lowe gardens. The young people of the RaNaBo sports association and the darling of the house, the athlete, baptized the multipurpose field Alessia Cabrini, raised in the city nursery and now Serie A champion and former Italian basketball team.
After four months of work to remove architectural barriers along the main paths within the park, the garden reopens to the public with renovated bathrooms and changing rooms. The new multipurpose field, in fact, with baskets for the game of basketball and concrete paving, has a flat, smooth and colored surface. Next to it is the new play area for children. To embellish the context dominated by olive trees, the renovation of the central fountain.
The work was fully financed with approx 200 thousand euros of funds from the municipal budget: for the sole removal of architectural barriers, designed by the surveyor Luigi Fallù of the municipal technical office, just over 78 thousand euros were needed. The mayor announced, before the ribbon cutting, further interventions on public lighting.
“Today is an exciting time for my administration which inaugurates a public work on which we have been working for years, – commented the mayor. The result is exceptional and I want to congratulate my councilors who have followed the progress of the works on a daily basis and with the companies that have completed them “.
