no mention of God of War 2

The high exponent of Sony PlayStation, Jim Ryan, reiterates to GQ’s microphones that Horizon Forbidden West will be released in 2021 but, referring to the games coming this year, makes no mention of the equally anticipated God of War 2.

During the last, in-depth interview granted by Ryan to the editorial staff of GQ, the CEO of the Sony videogame division considered it appropriate to underline how the managers of the Japanese company are confident that “in 2021 they will come out Returnal, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart e Horizon Forbidden West. But you know, there are always two approaches to this kind of declaration: you can in fact set the date and launch the game regardless of the quality reached or you can wait and launch it when you think the right time has come to do so. We at Sony have always adopted this second approach “.

While expressing his conviction for the release of Horizon Forbidden West by the end of the year that has just begun (also through a dig at CD Projekt for the problems of Cyberpunk 2077), Ryan specifies that Sony’s communication strategy linked to announcements on timing launch of its games is secondary to the development needs of its subsidiaries and, therefore, to any requests for postponement made by software houses for guaranteeing their quality.

The announcement of the postponement of Gran Turismo 7 to 2022 and, presumably, also the absence of information on God of War 2, the highly anticipated blockbuster action in development at Sony Santa Monica. The new exclusive curated by Cory Barlog also recently discussed Hermen Hulst: PlayStation Studios boss explained that he can’t wait to show God of War 2 in action on PS5.
