Ghost Recon Breakpoint: PS5 vs Xbox Series X | S in Digital Foundry’s video comparison

Ghost Recon Breakpoint was analyzed by Digital Foundry in their new in-depth video, putting a comparison versions PS5 e Xbox Series X|S of Ubisoft’s tactical shooter that recently obtained theupgrade next gen.

The comparison made by Digital Foundry presents a certain disparity regarding the graphic quality and in particular the resolution, with a considerable benefit for Xbox Series X, in a situation that looks similar to that seen in The Division 2 with the first next gen patch, partially corrected later with the next update, however, always analyzed in the same video visible above.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint has the usual two modes between resolution and performance, while on Xbox Series S there is only one mode. On PS5, the Ubisoft game in resolution mode uses dynamic scaling that targets 1440p at 30 frames per second, while on Xbox Series X the game hits Dynamic 4K at 30 frames per second. According to the findings of Digital Foundry, there are no particular drops in resolution, which remains largely linked to the maximum cap in both cases, as well as the frame-rate.

In performance mode, present only on the next gen, on PS5 the game uses a dynamic resolution at 1080p to maintain 60 frames per second, while on Xbox Series X the dynamic resolution aims at 1440p, again at 60 frames per second and in both cases the frame-rate is kept pretty constant.

There is only one mode available on Xbox Series S, with the game running at dynamic 1440p and 30 frames per second. Beyond the higher resolution, Xbox Series X has better graphics quality in terms of texture filtering, with improvements at the hardware level that are not present on PS5, probably always due to the different management of games in backward compatibility possible on the Microsoft console.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint recently got a patch for next gen consoles
