closed three churches in Brianza

The churches of Omate, Agrate and Caponago closed for covid. The announcement appeared on Tuesday morning on the Facebook page of the Bethany House Youth Ministry. The decision made after the three parish priests tested positive for coronavirus. On Wednesday, the Civil Protection volunteers will be involved in sanitizing the three places of worship.

In the meantime, the celebrations of masses on weekdays have been suspended, in the parishes of Omate and Caponago also on the days before holidays and holidays. In the church of Agrate, the celebration of the liturgy in presence has been confirmed for the pre-holiday mass at 5 pm and for the festive mass at 10 am. The faithful will be able to follow the 10 am Sunday mass on the Youtube channel of the Casa di Betania pastoral community.

The celebrations and prayer appointments already set for this period of Lent are also canceled – until a later date; the faithful were invited to continue their daily prayer and to have a special thought for the three priests who had positive results and for all those suffering from covid.

Agrate already in recent days had seen an increase in cases of covid with the quarantine of five primary school classes. The mayor Simone Sironi from his social profile had invited all citizens to be extremely cautious, and to respect the quarantine until 4 March for the pupils of the classes involved, remembering that they cannot leave the house.
