FERRARA. Two other people lost their lives in the Ferrara area due to causes related to the coronavirus infection. Both deaths date back to Saturday 5 June. The victims are two women aged 87 and 93, both with pegressed pathologies. The 87-year-old patient died at the Cento hospital, a lady from Ostellato who was a guest of Quisisana Due, while the 93-year-old died at the Delta hospital was from Argenta.

On the other hand, three new infections were detected on 30 swabs carried out. The municipalities involved are Argenta, Cento and Terre del Reno. The average age is 35, and one of the new positives has symptoms. Active cases still drop, albeit by one unit only, as a result of four healings.

There is also a new Covid hospitalization in Cona, but overall the number of patients decreases: twelve in the ordinary wards, two in intensive care. Twenty patients remain in the other two Covid del Ferrarese hospitals: 13 in the delta and 7 in Cento. Thirty-nine people entered quarantine, another 23 came out of home isolation or active surveillance.

The vaccination campaign has reached almost 254 thousand administrations, with almost 95 thousand people immunized with the booster or by having received the Johnson & Johnson single-dose serum.

In Emilia Romagna there are 155 new cases of positivity, out of a total of 7,291 swabs, equal to a rate of 2.1%. Three deaths in all in the region, two of which in our province. The number of patients recovered increased (+642), but also the number of people admitted to intensive care (72, two more than 24 hours ago), while the number of patients in the other Covid wards fell by six (404).
