Formula 1, Singapore GP canceled. After China and Turkey, the world championship loses a new appointment due to the Covid emergency

The world of Formula 1 from 2021 loses another big one appointment. After the cancellation of the China e Turkey, now it’s up to that of Singapore, this too canceled due to the emergency Coronavirus. The decision was communicated by the race organizers after a discussion with the leaders of Formula 1, who felt they had to give up the weekend gp from 1 to 3 October.

“We know that our fans were looking forward to another edition of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix – the organizers said in an official statement -. Canceling the event for the second year was one incredibly difficult decision, but necessary in light of the prevailing restrictions on live events in Singapore ”.

“Although Formula 1 did not comment specifically on those races – said the vice president of the Singapore GP -, he said that ‘it will continue to to work with all the promoters during this period and will have several options for additional races ”. The federation’s intention is currently that of leave unchanged the number of scheduled races for 2021, doubling down on Austin or by proposing a new appointment in China.
