He did not make it Loris Dominissini: the former Udinese footballer and coach died at the hospital of San Vito al Tagliamento, at the age of 59, due to the consequences related to the coronavirus. Dominissini died today after three months of hospitalization and after being kept under observation for some time his conditions became critical in the first days of May and today, one month later, the tragic news. Although he had not been positive for some time at Covid-19, he had still been transferred to intensive care at the Udine hospital.
Career as a player and as a manager
Dominissini was born in Udinese on November 19, 1961 and began playing football at an early age in the Udinese youth sector. With the Friulian club he won the spring championship in 1981 and made his Serie A debut in 1983 at the age of almost 22. During his career he then wore other shirts: Triestina, Pordenone, Messina, Pistoiese, Reggiana, Sevegliano and Pro Gorizia. In Reggio Emilia, however, he lived his best period of his career with seven consecutive great seasons with the double jump from Serie C to the major category.

He was then coach of other clubs such as Ascoli, Spezia, Pro Patria, Reggiana and Visé (in Belgium). In 2014 he had restarted from Lumignacco, in Friulian Excellence, which was also the last experience on the bench. For almost seven years he had been away from the world of football after many years.
Many users have expressed their opinion on Twitter pain for the premature death of Dominissini: “Eyes of ice, few words and never banal, a lot of competence. It was a pleasure to meet Loris Dominissini. Now rest in peace lutto tristezza”, and again: “Loris Dominissini died of COVID-19. Former Messina player and coach of several teams. Condolences to the family.”
