Italy increasingly orange with only 3 Regions in red and Molise the first Region to be tinged with green – a color indicative of the lowest risk Covid range – in the color map of Europe updated today by the ECDC, European Center for Prevention and Control of diseases.
This week the red areas are halved: and in fact only Valle D’Aosta in the north, and Basilicata and Calabria in the south remain of this color, while compared to the previous map, the orange Tuscany, Campania and Puglia are gained, which go to reach in a lower risk band is the rest of the Peninsula, already orange, including the islands.
Ecdc: “In Italy 45.8% adults vaccinated with at least one dose”
45.8% of Italy’s adult population was vaccinated with at least one dose against Covid-19, less than France (48.2%), Germany (51.5%) and Spain (46.3%), as of May 30th. This was reported by the weekly ECDC report, updated today, which confirms the primacy of Malta (65.8%) and Hungary (62.4%).
The ‘vaccination spread’ between Italy and Germany as regards those who received at least the first dose is 5.7 percentage points, but the situation clearly improves if we consider the share of the adult population fully vaccinated, i.e. with two doses of AstraZeneca , Moderna or BioNTech / Pfizer or with a dose of Janssen (J&J).
For the vaccinated who have completed the cycle of injections, Italy is at 23.5%, ahead of both Germany (21.1%) and France (20.9%), and aligned with Spain (23.6 %). Also in this case are Malta (49.7%) and Hungary (44.7%), which, however, has also injected vaccines not authorized by the EMA.
