Campania goes towards the Covid white zone. But not this week: the traditional monitoring of the Higher Institute of Health and the Ministry of Health is scheduled for Friday, which will confirm our region in the yellow zone. To get to the area with the least impact in terms of restrictions it will be necessary to wait at least until the end of the month: the June 21, in fact, if things continue like this, we will have Campania in the Covid white zone.
The reason is quickly explained: it is essential to record for 3 consecutive weeks an incidence of less than 50 cases of Covid-19 per 100 thousand inhabitants. Campania this week stands at an incidence equal to 43: this is a data from the white zone. If this goes on for another two weeks, the minimum restrictions zone will also be triggered here. On the other hand, Lombardy, Lazio, Piedmont, Puglia, Emilia-Romagna and the Province of Trento could enter the white zone on 14 June.
Today the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca assured that the goal of immunizing Naples by July is achievable:
All with the first dose, half even with the boosters but already having the entire population vaccinated is an extraordinary result. I think we will have the same result for the provincial capitals at least. We will truly be able to present ourselves as a region has made a huge effort. The message is one of serenity, we are coming out of the ordeal, but we get out of it if we are careful.
The rules of the white zone
But what does the Covid white zone provide? According to the rules established by the last decree it is the classification of minimum pandemic risk. The curfew is abolished, the same is the ban on night travel which is brought forward with respect to 21 June, when it will be eliminated in the yellow zone. What remains in effect? The basic rules: social distancing and the use of masks (at least for now), applying the provisions of the protocols for all activities. There is increasing talk for the white zone to set a limit of six people for each table indoors in restaurants.
