New cases of coronavirus are increasing in the face of an increase in swabs carried out. The pressure on hospitals continues to drop, hospitalizations in decline

ROMA — In the last 24 hours in Italy they have been diagnosed 2,897 cases of Covid infection, up from 2,483 yesterday. But the processed swabs have also increased, 226.272 against 221,818 on Tuesday and the positive rate on the total of tests is stable at 1.2% (yesterday 1.1%)

On the other hand, there are 62 deaths from Covid recorded in the last 24 hours, 29 less than 24 hours ago.

In total, the cases since the beginning of the epidemic are 4,223,200, the deaths 126,283. The discharged and healed are instead 3,886,867, with an increase of 18,535 compared to yesterday, while the currently positive drop to 210,050, down by 15,701 in the last 24 hours.

The number of patients admitted to intensive care remains below one thousand: in today’s national bulletin they have been registered 933, 56 less than yesterday. The daily entries in the resuscitation wards were instead 33 (yesterday they were 41).

The hospitalized with symptoms in the ordinary wards are 5,858, 334 fewer than yesterday.

The Regions that have registered the greatest increases in new cases of infection are Lombardy (461 versus 35,716 tests), Campania (375 versus 15,804 tests) e Sicily (326 versus 15,857 tests).
