Farewell to father Alex Ravindran. The missionary who had been hospitalized for several weeks at the hospital in Chennai, in eastern India, for complications related to Covid passed away yesterday morning. Fr Alex has started numerous projects in favor of poor children, orphans and the elderly in the areas of Tamil Nadu and Tenkasi and for two years he had played the role of assistant pastor in the church of Santa Maria Regina della Pace in Osimo station. This is how the mayor Simone Pugnaloni remembers him: “In my personal name and in the name of the whole city, I express my deepest condolences for the disappearance of Don Alex Ravindran, struck by Covid, former vice parish priest of Osimo station / Abbadia who returns ‘in India carrying out important projects: BBL male orphanage, “San Francesco di Paola” primary school in English, “Casa della Misericordia di Padre Pio” female orphanage, “Santa Maria Goretti” care and welcome home. Every year a large group of Osimani went to support him for several weeks before the covid, and also the Municipal Administration in 2016 was close to him ».

The Indian parish priest has always maintained contact with the territory and was part of the Senigallian non-profit organization Amici di casa BLL which supports projects for the population in the south of India.
