Liguria tries to convince the undecided to get vaccinated. The “Adult and vaccinated” campaign has started to raise awareness of those who still express doubts about vaccines against Covid.
While the second sold out at the Open Days dedicated to young people is registered, the older ones express some perplexity. The numbers show that about one in three Ligurians, in the 60 to 80 year-old range, has not yet been vaccinated and it is not certain that they will. While in the 60-69 age group, 71.6% joined.
“Refusing the Covid vaccine today is tantamount to putting our lives at risk. Those who are against the Covid vaccine today are not only against science, but above all against their own health and that of the people around us. The vaccine saves life », Matteo Bassetti, director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic of the San Martino Polyclinic in Genoa wrote in recent days on his Facebook page.
The president of the Region Giovanni Toti, in a press conference on Tuesday 1 June on Covid, doubled his office: «Young people are setting an example and showing great civic sense in this decisive moment for the restart of the country. My appeal once again goes to the undecided: vaccines are safe and remain the main road to get out of the pandemic and return to normal. Precisely for this reason, tomorrow we will launch the ‘Adult and vaccinated’ campaign precisely to raise awareness of those who are still undecided and further expand the audience: in any case – Toti concludes – we will reach 100,000 doses per week in the second half of June, hoping that the deliveries of vaccines are not delayed ».
