Campania becomes red, while it is dark red for the province of Bolzano. After several weeks the situation in Northern Italy worsens according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Ecdc). High infections in Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Marche, Campania and the Province of Trento: areas classified as having a high incidence of contagion Covid (over 500 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants). But also other nations in Europe they are suffering from an increase in positivity. In France the situation, compared to last week, has worsened significantly, with most of the departments in dark red. It is no better in southern Belgium, North Holland, Sweden and Poland, which are almost all dark reds.

How to interpret the colors of the ECDC

Except for the regions mentioned, the rest of Italy is instead in red, which indicates a notification rate of new Covid cases between 150 and 500 per 100 thousand inhabitants. Only Sardinia remains in orange this time, with a case notification rate between 25 and 150 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

We remind you that the areas of the ECDC map are marked in the following colors:

– green if the 14-day notification rate is less than 25 out of 100,000 cases and the test positive rate is less than 4%;

– orange if the 14-day notification rate is less than 50 cases per 100,000 but the test positive rate is 4% or higher or, if the 14-day notification rate is between 25 and 150 cases per 100,000, and the test positivity rate is less than 4%;

– red, if the 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case notification rate is between 50 and 150 and the COVID-19 infection test positive rate is 4% or higher, or if the COVID-19 infection rate 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case notification is greater than 150 but less than 500;

– dark red, if the 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case notification rate is 500 or more;
