Milan, 3 May – Era positive to Covid 19nevertheless tried to board a flight to Milan. This is why the men of the Air Border Police of Lamezia Terme Airport have reported a
doctor 45 years old from Reggino and resident in Milano, for violating health regulations regarding Covid-19 and for providing false statements to the authorities. On the afternoon of April 27, the man had tested positive for molecular buffer he had undergone in Reggio Calabria, but the crisis unit, which had contacted him to inform him and recommend him to undergo mandatory quarantine, had declared that he was already in Milan where he had arrived on a Ryanair flight taken the same day.
Therefore, the airline and the Polaria of Lamezia Terme airport were contacted. The investigations revealed not only that the doctor had not left during the day, but also that he was about to board the Ryanair flight at 21.30 to Milan Malpensa. The policemen then joined him in the national departures hall of the Calabrian airport, preventing him from embarking on the flight and warning him to go to his home, in the province of Reggio Calabria, to observe the mandatory health quarantine. The man was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Lamezia Terme for having provided false statements to the authorities of the Covid Crisis Unit of Reggio Calabria and for having attempted to board a flight, despite being aware of his positivity to Covid-19 , with the risk of spreading the infection both in the airport and on board the aircraft, deliberately violating the health regulations in force which, moreover, for his profession as a doctor, he certainly knew.
