The Plaza Premium Lounge in Rome Fiumicino was awarded by SkyTrax, the leading international air transport assessment agency, with the prestigious “5-Star COVID-19 Lounge Safety Ratings” award, the highest safety certification for combating COVID-19.
The Leonardo Da Vinci Terminal 3 lounge received the highest score for excellent and consistent measures put in place to reduce the risks associated with the pandemic. SkyTrax assessments have considered the safety and hygiene protocols put in place by lounge operators and airlines to ensure that lounges meet the highest standards and offer advanced levels of security for customers and staff.
This prestigious achievement has a particularly important significance because it is yet another confirmation of how the capital’s airport is among the most recognized airports in the world in the fight against Covid-19. Fiumicino, in fact, in 2020 obtained the maximum rating of 5 stars from Skytrax, after having received the Biosafety Trust Certification from Rina Service and the Airport Health Accreditation (the first airport in the European Union to obtain it) from ACI.
” We are thrilled to have been awarded the highest 5-Star rating by Skytrax Covid-19 Airline Lounge Safety. Safeguarding the health and well-being of passengers is of the utmost importance to us. In these unprecedented times, traveling by plane can be stressful, but, thanks to the dedication and commitment of our team in ensuring a hygienic and safe environment, it is our hope that all passengers can travel with greater peace of mind. Our lounges strictly follow our company’s global safety and quality standards. We are ready, now more than ever, to host our esteemed guests again ”, said Analia Marinoff, General Manager, Italy and Finland, Plaza Premium Group.
