In the last 24 hours in Italy, 4,197 positive cases of coronavirus and 32 deaths due to COVID-19 have been detected. Currently the hospitalized are 3,777 (164 more than yesterday), of which 415 in the intensive care wards (17 more than yesterday) and 3,362 in the other wards (147 more than yesterday). 62,647 molecular swabs and 186,468 rapid antigenic tests were analyzed. The percentage of positive molecular swabs was 6.21 percent, while that of antigen tests was 0.16 percent. On Sunday, the infections recorded were 6,172 and the deaths 26.

The regions that have recorded the most cases in the last 24 hours are Emilia-Romagna (536), Lazio (449), Friuli Venezia Giulia (438), Veneto (432) and Sicily (416).

Today, Monday 8 November, the new rules for managing infections in schools came into force, which aim to encourage face-to-face teaching and avoid distance learning as much as possible. The document provides for a “defined and standardized” procedure to homogenize prevention measures in schools at national level and establishes a new procedure for the introduction of quarantine: we have talked about it better here.
