Calci (PI), 4 October 2021 – A total account consisting of 66 thousand euros for economic support measures for families, businesses and economic activities and associations with fixed costs, 30 thousand euros for managing expenses related to the pandemic and 40 thousand euros for interventions on the territory. The 136 thousand euros for the management of the emergency caused by the spread of Covid-19, with all the support measures listed, were allocated by the Municipality of Calci following a budget change – approved last Thursday by the City Council – aimed at addressing the economic consequences resulting from the Coronavirus emergency. A substantial variation that launched by the Municipality of Valgraziosa which goes to field its own resources and resources received from the Government to calm and amortize the economic consequences arising from the Covid-19 emergency while securing the budget to prevent the expected and predictable lower revenues jeopardize the possibility of guaranteeing the fundamental functions of the institution.
From the change in the budget, numbers in hand, it emerges that a further 66 thousand euros will be allocated to economic support measures for families, businesses and economic activities and associations with fixed costs according to a scheme and a line already shared both at the council level and with representatives trade unions and trade associations. Approximately 30 thousand euros were also allocated to meet the expenses related to the management of the emergency and 40 thousand euros to deal with urgent maintenance or safety interventions on the territory and on the municipal assets. Resources, the latter, made necessary since, also as a consequence of the pandemic, the costs of urbanization – which support investments – are drastically reduced.
The mayor Massimiliango Ghimenti intervenes on behalf of the municipal administration: “This is an important budget change for our community, first of all because it will allow us to issue further and substantial aid measures for all the frailties that, following the covid , have come to be created or worsened in many categories of the community also in our territory. The resources received by the Government for the management of the consequences of the pandemic are significantly lower than last year and therefore the measures adopted are also based on the good management of the municipal budget, also representing a great effort that, however, we considered it essential to implement to do everything in our possibilities so as not to leave anyone behind ”.
