The pandemic has been slowing down for days now, in Lombardy and throughout Italy: even in the province of Brescia, as shown by the graphs, as always at the bottom of the page. But the next few weeks will be decisive: last year the “counter” jumped from mid-October, with hundreds of daily Covid hospitalizations in our region alone. This year there are vaccines, but the audience of those who have not yet received a dose (by choice or for other reasons) is still large. Even in rich Lombardy.
Meanwhile, the numbers: there are only 35 new positives in the province of Brescia, 356 in the last seven days with an average of 51 cases per day, down 5.6% over seven days (Saturday was -5.3%, Friday + 3.6%) and 10.5% over the previous seven days. The incidence stands at 29 new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in seven days. There have not been so few cases now for almost two months, since early August.
Covid: the situation in Lombardy
In line with what happens in the rest of Lombardy: in the whole region there were not so few weekly cases even from the third week of July. There is talk of 304 positives in the last 24 hours, 2,785 in the last seven days with an average of 398 cases per day, down by 1.5% over the seven days and 10.6% over the previous seven days. There is also a slight decline in hospitalizations: to date there are 440 Covid patients hospitalized in Lombard hospitals, of which 61 in serious condition in intensive care. There are 10 coronavirus deaths reported between Saturday and Sunday.
