The plan provides for the execution of salivary molecular tests conducted on a voluntary basis, with parental consent, on pupils aged 6-14 in primary and lower secondary schools indicated as “sentinel schools” and identified by the health authorities local in collaboration with schools, according to criteria of representativeness of the population, membership potential, logistical sustainability. In the current “start-up” phase of the screening campaign, the sample collection activity will be carried out in the school with the help of health personnel identified by the ASL Roma 6, who will guide the pupils involved in the self-collection of the swab, providing its collection and delivery to the reference laboratory identified for processing.
The results of the swab will be made available within 24 hours on a dedicated web platform and can be downloaded using the credentials provided to families.
In the event of a positive result found in the screening phase, the Public Health and Hygiene Service (SISP) will carry out the relevant epidemiological investigation, arranging the appropriate measures (isolation, quarantine, local sanitation …) according to protocols already defined and applied during the previous school year and shared with the Director and the school Covid group.
