The number of new daily Coronavirus infections in Sicily is back below one thousand: 943 were registered in the last 24 hours out of 12,804 swabs, with a positivity rate of 7.4%. The descent of the epidemiological curve is therefore confirmed, with a -41% of cases compared to last Monday and with more swabs carried out. The incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants is decreasing and is now at 164. There are 10 other victims while the healed are 444.
In hospitals, the number of patients admitted to the medical area is growing: there are 855 in all, 10 more than in the Sunday bulletin, while the number of beds occupied in intensive care remains stable, equal to 120. The number of daily admissions to intensive care has decreased: 6 in the last 24 hours. This is the subdivision by province of the new cases: Catania 261, Messina 249, Palermo 179, Siracusa 80, Trapani 53, Caltanissetta 46, Enna and Ragusa 37, Agrigento 1.
The epidemic curve in Italy is still decreasing. There are 3,361 new Covid cases in the 24 hours, against 4,257 on last Monday, a sign of a downward trend on a weekly basis that has continued for 7 days. There are 134,393 swabs and the positivity rate is 2.5%. The deaths are 52 (yesterday 49), for a total of 129,567 victims since the beginning of the epidemic. Intensive care is slightly down, two fewer (yesterday +3) with 32 admissions of the day, and there are 570 in all, while ordinary admissions increase by 86 units (yesterday +12), 4,302 in all.
The region with the most cases today is still Sicily, followed at a distance by Emilia Romagna (+513), Tuscany (+313), Lazio (+295), Veneto (+274), and Lombardy (+177). The total cases thus rise to 4,574,787. The healed are 3,977 (yesterday 5,602), for a total of 4,309,200 since the beginning of the pandemic. The number of people currently positive falls for the second in a row, 682 fewer, (yesterday -337), and they are 136,020 in all, of which 131,148 in home isolation.
