A “historic” turning point for Kellogg’s, the famous food brand. The group has announced that it will use less sugar and salt in children’s breakfast cereals sold across Europe and the UK. As reported ilfattoalimentare.it, this is the commitment made by Kellogg’s, which has announced its intention reduce the use of sugars by at least 10% and 20% that of the salt contained in its products. All this will happen by 2022 and, they assure, without compromising the taste of cereals.

The group’s initiative fits into the new Manifesto of well-being, Wellbeing Manifesto, of the stars and stripes company: this is an action plan that revolves around the protection of human health and environmental sustainability, issues for which there is increasing sensitivity, and not only from the point of view of the consumer .

Thanks to the improvement of recipes, according to Kellogg’s plan by the end of 2022 all brands of children’s cereals will have a Nutri-Score A or B on the label, in the countries where it has been adopted, such as France. And again, Kellogg’s has announced plans to increase the fiber content in most of its breakfast products by 2023.

But that’s not all: the group has also announced the intention of reduce the environmental impact of products sold in Europe thanks to new packaging. In detail, a smaller and less voluminous cardboard package will be used for Kellogg’s cereals, made possible by the suction of air in the bags, without reducing the quantity of cereals contained.
