Amazon will create three thousand new permanent jobs in Italy by the end of the year, bringing the company’s total workforce “to over 12,500 employees, up from 9,500 at the end of 2020, in more than 50 locations throughout Italy”. The e-commerce giant announces this, explaining that this year it will open two distribution centers. One closely concerns Bergamo, because it is the Cividate al Piano hub, while the other will be in Novara, as well as a sorting center in Spilamberto (Modena) and 11 sorting depots in Piedmont, Trentino-AltoAdige, Veneto, Friuli -Venice Giulia, Umbria and Marche. Amazon also recently presented the European Innovation Lab in Vercelli, designed to develop and implement new technologies to further increase employee safety and improve their work experience.
