Madrid – It took about six hours of emergency surgery in Ibiza to stabilize the conditions – however still critical, according to the latest information available – of a 28-year-old Italian was seriously injured by gunshots on the night between Friday and Saturday on the island. Shots started during a party organized in a private villa rented in the municipality of Santa Eulalia, near an industrial area.
There are at least two other compatriots involved in the affair, for which no arrests have been made at the moment: a 35-year-old taken to hospital for bruises and then discharged a few hours later – according to the Efe news agency – and a 33-year-old wanted as an alleged assailant. According to what leaks from sources aware of the ongoing investigations, conducted by the Spanish Civil Guard, the three Italians involved are resident in Ibiza.
The first reconstruction provided by the investigators indicates that the alleged perpetrator of the shots arrived at the party by car, accompanied by at least one other person, but even more: the man, it is suspected, broke into the villa just before three o’clock. morning and opened fire, then it went away. From what emerged, the party had been organized by the boy who was seriously injured: The young man was hit by at least three bullets to the head and three to the right leg, according to a statement – released by the Iberian media – from the private clinic Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario, where he was hospitalized on Saturday morning just before 4am.
The Italian Consulate in Barcelona is following the affair and is providing assistance to the fellow countrymen involved. The first hypothesis on which the investigators work with regard to the motive is that of a quarrel that arose for reasons of a private nature, perhaps out of jealousy. Given the dynamics of events, at the moment, however, other hypotheses have not been ruled out, such as that of a premeditated gesture due to disagreements of another nature. However, there is a tendency to rule out the possibility that organized criminal groups are involved. This incident occurred just two nights after Elena LG, a 21-year-old girl with dual Italian and Spanish citizenship, and her boyfriend, a 26-year-old of Moroccan descent, were found lifeless after falling from the balcony of an Ibiza hotel. . The main hypothesis of the police is that it was a case of femicide-suicide. The young woman was born in Cartagena, Spain, but had a residence in Milan.
