The BMW i4 and the BMW iX mark the next big step in the transformation of the BMW Group towards a global share of 50% in terms of sales of fully electric vehicles in 2030. The BMW i4 is based on a flexible vehicle architecture, conceived from the outset for a purely electric propulsion system, with long wheelbase and wide track. The body structure is characterized by a low weight but at the same time extremely rigid. The model-specific torsion struts, aluminum panel and front axle subframe have a fixed connection to the high-voltage battery casing. Optimized aerodynamics offers a very interesting aerodynamic coefficient value of 0.24.

The technology of frame uses a double-jointed front axle and a five-link rear axle. Lift-related shock absorbers and rear axle air suspension are standard. In addition, the wheel slip limitation integrated in the engine control unit (combined for the first time with electric all-wheel drive) offers high-level traction and stability. The BMW i4 M50 also features model-specific adaptive M suspension, variable sports steering, M Sport brake system and optional M light alloy wheels (up to 20 inches).

The electric propulsion system based on the fifth generation BMW eDrive technology with highly integrated electric motor unit, power electronics, transmission and the latest battery technology. Electric motors work on the principle of a synchronous current unit with one power density up to 2.14 kW / kg.

BMW i4: specifications
