The brand new Hyper-technological SUV of the BMW Group is called iX, it combines zero-emission driving pleasure, sporty agility and a compelling operating range, with a profile dedicated exactly to sustainability.
With its pioneering design and an interior dedicated to space and luxury, the BMW iX embodies a new interpretation of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) concept. Conceived from the outset for purely electric mobility, this model is based on a new toolkit for the future, whose vast potential for innovations in the areas of automated driving, connectivity and digital services translates into an unmatched premium mobility experience in this segment.
The BMW iX will be launched in two model variants, both equipped with an electric all-wheel drive system, with a combined output of 385 kW / 523 hp in the BMW iX xDrive50 and 240 kW / 326 hp in the BMW iX xDrive40. The efficiency of the driving technology combined with the latest battery cell technology results in a ‘autonomy WLTP calculated up to 630 kilometers in the BMW iX xDrive50 and up to 425 kilometers in the BMW iX xDrive40.
The version M60, with a higher power of 440 kW / 600 hp, able to guarantee a completely electric and exceptionally sporty driving experience. The body structure, design principle and chassis tuning of the BMW iX are perfectly conceived to combine exceptional ride comfort with top sporty handling characteristics.
In November 2021, BMW will launch the new iX electric SUV on the market
The BMW iX’s electric all-wheel drive system transmits the right amount of drive torque to the front and rear wheels in all driving situations. The new generation of the iDrive display and operating system making its debut in the BMW iX expands the interaction between driver and vehicle and transforms it into a natural dialogue. It is based on the new BMW Operating System 8, designed with a focus on the operation of the BMW Curved Display touchscreen and verbal communication with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
The pioneering character of the BMW iX also shines through in its exterior. The clearly structured and reduced design language, the imposing body style with muscular proportions typical of a SAV and the finely crafted details create a vision of progressive luxury. Outstanding exterior features include the nearly completely darkened BMW kidney grille, the surface of which is the result of innovative manufacturing techniques and incorporates camera and radar sensors.
The BMW iX will be produced at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing. Both the vehicle itself and the battery cells will be made using green energy across the board.
