Pellets “passed off” for Swedish, Austrian or Norwegian but coming from the Czech Republic and Lithuania. There are five interventions by the Guardia di Finanza of Vicenza against companies active in the Vicenza area, with the seizure of over 384 tons of pellets, with a retail value of about 107 thousand euros, with counterfeit quality certifications, fake brands and denominations of origin, put up for sale in violation of the Consumer Code.
The operation, conducted by the Fiamme gialle beriche, called “A quo venis?”, Was triggered following numerous inspections aimed on the one hand to suppress the sale of pellets without quality certification, and on the other to verify the channels of supply of goods.
During the interventions, carried out by the soldiers of the Vicenza Company, in a warehouse in Camisano Vicentino, more than 16,000 bags called “Austria Pellet” and 1,400 bags called “Norway Pellet” were found, with symbols and labels referable to countries other than that of actual origin (Lithuania). Another 3,500 bags, called “Premium Pellet” and “Swedish Pellet”, bore a counterfeit trademark attributable to an Austrian quality certification body.
