Covid vaccine and death rate: the details of the new study

The aim of the study was to prove that the 3 Covid vaccines authorized in the United States of America are safe.

The researchers pointed out that “the recipients of the vaccines Pfizer-BioNTech, Modern O Janssen they had a non-Covid mortality risk lower than unvaccinated comparison groups ”.

In some statements reported by ‘Il Messaggero’, Stanley Xulead author of the research added: “Vaccines licensed in the United States have been proven time and again to be safe. This study confirms it ”.

In the period included between 14 December 2020 and 31 July 2021, the research team studied 6.4 million people who had been vaccinated against Covid-19 and compared them with 4.6 million of unvaccinated individuals, with similar demographics and geographic locations. The latter had undergone the flu vaccine in recent years, but not the one against Covid.

The study found that people vaccinated against Covid “had lower non-Covid mortality rates than unvaccinated people”.

Specifically, as Stanley Xu pointed out, people who received two doses of Pfizer vaccines were 34% more likely to die from causes other than coronavirus in the following months compared to unvaccinated people. People who received two doses of the Moderna vaccine were 31% more likely to die than unvaccinated people, and those who received the Janssen vaccine were 54% likely to die.

Based on these data, the researchers stated: “The lower risk of mortality after vaccination against Covid suggests substantial effects on vaccine, that they tend to be healthier than unvaccinated people. This result will be the starting point for future analyzes. This discovery strengthens the safety profile of Covid vaccines currently approved in the US.
