The Board of Directors of Bper Banca has established the Sustainability Committee, which holds advisory and propositional functions, supporting the activities of the Board with reference to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and with reflection on all the processes through which Bper guarantees the pursuit of sustainable development. The Committee, according to a note, is chaired by the Chairman of Bper Banca, Flavia Mazzarella, and made up of the Bank’s directors Riccardo Barbieri and Elisa Valeriani. Bper Banca has been included in the new Mib ESG index of Borsa Italiana, part of the Euronext group, dedicated to national blue-chips which groups together the large listed Italian issuers presenting the best ESG practices. The index, launched by Euronext in collaboration with Vigeo Eiris (part of Moody’s Esg Solutions), combines the measurement of economic performance with ESG assessments in line with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

For Bper Banca, sustainability must be understood as a real lever for global development, capable of improving competitiveness and building shared value for all stakeholders. Last July, Bper Banca also signed the Unep-Fi Principles for Responsible Banking, in order to help create a better, more inclusive and sustainable society.
