The 2022 edition of the Geneva Motor Show, one of the most important world exhibitions in the automotive sector, has been canceled. The organizers of the event said that, as already for the editions of 2020 and 2021, also for that of 2022, which should have taken place in February, the cause of the cancellation are the management difficulties related to the coronavirus pandemic ( such as travel restrictions for exhibitors, visitors and journalists).

To complicate the situation, this year, however, there was also the very serious shortage of microchips that affected many industrial sectors around the world, and in particular the automotive sector, which prevented many companies from ensuring their participation in the Show. Maurice Turrettini, chairman of the show’s organizing committee, said he was confident the event could take place in 2023.
