07/10/2021 – The Government is considering providing an extension of the super bonus and of other house bonuses. But the new expiry of the 110% superbonus will not be too far in the years because it is an expensive measure that risks creating economic distortions given by the expansion of the construction sector.
The said Minister of Economy and Finance, Daniele Franco, yesterday in the Senate during the hearing on NADEF 2021, adding that the assessment of the extent of the super bonus is based on a cost-benefit analysis.
And the same goes for the other house bonuses, currently in force until the end of 2021. “They are very important to restart the construction sector. We are evaluating how they can and should be extended, we are talking about the whole set of interventions: 50, 65, 90 and 110 ”- said Franco.
The Minister refers to the 50% restructuring bonus, the 50 and 65% eco-bonus, the 90% facades bonus and the 110% super bonus.
“We must keep in mind – said the Minister – that they are a very expensive instrument. If the state pays in full, or even more, the value of the expenditure and we have 25-30 million real estate units with 50-100 thousand euros of works on each of them subsidized by the state, the effect on accounts and public debt is stratospheric”.
For these reasons, the superbonus “it is not sustainable in the long run”.
The Minister agrees on the positive effects of the bonuses, primarily the support for the construction sector and the push for energy conversion of the country. But also from this point of view, the Minister recalls that “the construction sector must be supported but cannot grow excessively, it risks creating bubbles and recessionary situations”.
To the proposal of a structural confirmation for 15 years, advanced during the hearing, Minister Franco replied saying that it is not feasible.
