YOU WRITE X BUT YOU READ CROSS – The Toyota confirms the name and some details of the third generation of its city car, which will be called Aygo X (Aygo Cross reads) and will debut at the beginning of November 2021. Anticipated by the Toyota Aygo X Prologue concept of last March (pictured below), the Japanese company has confirmed that the new Aygo is based on the GA-B platform, the same used by the Yaris.
EUROPEAN DNA – The new Toyota Aygo X was developed entirely by the European branch of the manufacturer, to study and respond to the current and future habits of the public and of the cities of the Old Continent. Furthermore, it will be produced in the Czech Republic, in the Kolin factory, the same site from which today’s Aygo are born.
TECHNICAL SHEET – The Toyota Aygo X it will have shapes inspired by crossovers, with a muscular body and slightly raised from the ground, and will be slightly longer than the current model (which measures 347 cm). With the GA-B platform, it will say goodbye to the old platform, previously shared with its French “sisters”, Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108. While Toyota’s choice in contrast with the trend should be emphasized: it will equip the new Aygo X only with gasoline combustion engines and there is no electric version (but a full hybrid version is expected).
