Still increases for petrol and diesel. According to the surveys on the network of distributors carried out by the Ministry of Economic Development, the national average price of petrol, in self mode, rises to 1,628 euros / liter, with the different brands between 1,625 and 1,637 euros / liter (no logo 1,613). The average price of diesel, still in self mode, is a 1,489 euros / liter, with companies positioned between 1,482 and 1,507 euros / liter (no logo 1,468). According to the calculations of the National Consumers Union since the beginning of the year, a full tank of 50 liters has increased by 9 euros and 16 cents for petrol and 8 euros and 34 cents for diesel, with an increase of 12.7% and 12.6% respectively. On an annual basis it is equal to a sting per car equal to 220 euros per year for petrol and 200 euros for diesel. The quotations of the Petroleum still rising in recent weeks and almost doubled in the last year.
The rise in fuel prices is part of an overall inflationary framework that is not overheated. In June, Istat said in its preliminary estimates, inflation remained at a standstill all’1,3%, the same level as last May. Istat confirms that the cost of living is still mainly supported by the prices of energy goods (+ 14.1% compared to June 2020), including fuels. However, some signs of a slight recovery are also manifested in other product sectors, with the prices of processed food which clear the decline recorded in May and those of recreational, cultural and personal care services. The inflation acquired for 2021 is equal to + 1.3%, this is the value that would be recorded at the end of the year in the event of zero changes in the next months.
Italian inflation remains below the average of the euro area which, it notes Eurostat, in June it should drop to 1.9% from 2% in May, although energy is expected to register an increase of 13.1% on an annual basis. In Germany, a country where inflation had shown signs of awakening in recent months, the June survey marks a decline to 2.1% from 2.4% in May.
