On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the apparitions of the Queen of Peace, a testimony rich in faith comes from Medjugorje.

The story of a year that, for many was complicated by the pandemic, but for those who describe it, instead, was an experience of constant faith despite all the difficulties. So much to enrich even more that light already present in his heart.

The seed of Medjugorje has borne fruit

40 years ago, it was 5.40 pm on June 24th, lthe Virgin Mary appeared in Medjugorje, up there on the hill, to six boys. At first, everyone thought that those young people were lying, that they had made up or, even worse, dreamed of it all. But who would have imagined that that grain of faith, which fell on that earth, would have brought such great fruit of prayer and graces all over the world?

In this pandemic year, many have been those who have been afraid, who have seen the churches close or, worse still, have seen their faith weaken more and more. But there are those who, on the contrary, have lived this year strengthening their prayer, climbing that hill, practically awaiting the messages of the Virgin and not letting themselves be intimidated by either the cold, the frost, the bora or the rain.

A year of prayer: witness

We have completed our 365 days of climbing the mountain of the first apparitions. Every day we went up to Podbrdo at 5 in the morning, praying 3 rosaries and other prayers and we also read the message that the Gospa gave us all these years”- says the man in his testimony.

What is striking is to feel that sense of grace that pervades, not only him who tells, but also those who have made this journey with him: “It was an immense grace to be able to hear his beautiful words of comfort, teaching, encouragement and love”.

“We did all this and it was born spontaneously”

But how did it all start? “All this started spontaneously, and without a project, but we had an idea, why almost all of us knew Father Slavko well. This was his spirituality. Every day at least early in the morning, and then the day truly is in the right place, in your hands. All this can be done wherever you are, because there is no place without God, but I think it is very important to read His messages, because they explain everything”- he continues in his story.

Today, on the day of the anniversary of the apparitions, this year-round stage ends: “This morning we read the message from last anniversary, and you say that we are living in a time of grace, and I can tell you firsthand that it is true. On the spot of the first apparitions, I met a person who followed us live every day, and just yesterday she managed to arrive from Italy to conclude these 365 days with us”.

Medjugorje: we go with faith and courage

A story that ends with a very specific statement: “You can come to Medjugorje, but only with faith and courage, and both come from prayer. So it is not enough to say that you want to come, but come. It is essential for the times in which we live to be full of graces” – conclude.

We hope that the prohibition on the part of our country to go there will soon lapse, and to be able to return to climb that hill, touched by the grace of the presence of the Virgin Mary. The pandemic did not stop the faith and Medjugorje is a concrete example of this. The hope is that we in Italy too can learn from them.
