Dead Clare Peploe, director and screenwriter – Ultima Ora

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 24 – Clare Peploe, director and screenwriter, died last night in Rome. The news is given on the Instagram page of Bernardo Bertolucci. Born in the sultanate of Zanzibar in 1942, she grew up between England and Italy, Clare Peploe collaborated several times with Bernardo Bertolucci, whom she married in 1979 to stay with him until his death in 2018. She had studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the University of Perugia. The debut as with the short film Couples and Robbers, which was then nominated for an Oscar for best short film. His third feature film The Triumph of Love was presented in competition at the 58th Venice Film Festival. Sister of screenwriter Mark Peploe, she was also assistant director to Michelangelo Antonioni in Zabriskie Point. (HANDLE).
