The registration in the register of suspects of the policeman, as far as we know, is a necessary act in order to carry out the checks. Immediately after the facts, a first information was sent to the prosecutor’s office also with the video in which the various phases were shot with the 44-year-old with a knife in his hand, the policemen approaching with batons and then the agent shooting. The prosecutors have delegated the investigators to acquire any images that may have taken the scene.
Railway police officer investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office and not subjected to any disciplinary proceedings as the officer shot to defend himself and others. The non-EU citizen stuck in the leg, guarded at the Policlinico Umberto I, under arrest for the crimes of attempted murder, abusive carrying of a weapon, resistance and threat to a Public Official remains still serious, but in stable conditions.
Investigation file on the policeman who sparked the political debate. “Investigated for culpable excess in the legitimate use of weapons the policeman who injured and stopped the illegal immigrant who had sowed panic at the Termini Station in Rome – declares the president of Fratelli d’Italia, Giorgia Meloni -. Unconditional solidarity with the agent: the only necessary act was to intervene to stop an extremely dangerous person, who threatened the police with a knife and could harm citizens and passers-by. Fratelli d’Italia stands alongside our men and women in uniform who risk their lives every day to guarantee our safety“.
“I express all my solidarity with the policeman who, in order to prevent the episode of a few days ago at Termini station from ending in a more serious way, stopped the deranged man armed with a knife with a gunshot. Yet another ‘due act’ sheds a negative light on an agent who, instead, with cold blood and professionalism has avoided worse consequences – the words of Senator Maurizio Gasparri, member of the Presidential Committee of Forza Italia -. I hope that the judiciary will file the case immediately and that the episode will make us reflect on the need to equip the police with tasers and guarantee them greater protection “.
