The division Xbox announced that it had hired the developer Kim Swift, famous for Portal and Left 4 Dead and for having worked as a game design director for Stadia, in order to make gods native cloud games and to help third-party studios bring their games to the cloud, first of all Kojima Productions, according to some rumors collected by Jeff Grubb of Venture Beat.
According to Peter Wyse, the head of the publishing division of Xbox Game Studios, who touched on the subject in an interview with Polygon: “Kim will form a team dedicated to building new cloud experiences to support our mission to bring Xbox games to 3 billion players.“
According to Venture Beat, Microsoft wants to help with the hiring of Swift Hideo Kojima and his team to bring his Xbox-exclusive game to the cloud. The project is still under negotiation and it is still all on paper, in the sense that it is in the design phase. However it would be a big hit and certainly a great way to give cloud gaming a boost, in fact the only way to bring triple A quality titles to devices not specifically designed for gaming such as televisions.
