After the announcement of an upcoming space trip, Jeff Bezos throws himself into the field of nuclear energy. In reality, he is not new to the industry: the king of Amazon has been operating in the environment for about 10 years, since he invested capital in General Fusion. The Canadian company has proposed a project to obtain clean and risk-free energy from the nuclear fusion process. Everything will come to life thanks to a mini demonstration plant (70% of the size of a commercial one) in Culham, in English Oxfordshire. A project from 400 million of dollars which is expected to be operational from 2025. And Bezos is expected to participate as a lender of the company. If this were to go through, the energy would be obtained not from the splitting of atoms but from the fusion of particles. A low-risk approach that involves minimal generation of radioactive waste. However, this would involve the generation of heat that reaches higher temperatures than those of the solar surface.
