The turning point in the case of Saman Abbas it could be close, perhaps a matter of hours. According to Journal of Reggio, the brother of the 18-year-old Pakistani woman killed by family members a Novellara (Reggio Emilia) for having chosen a standard of living that is too “western”, would have communicated to the investigators the place where the young woman would have been buried.
To date, the boy, the only one in the family unit who immediately decided to collaborate with the Italian authorities and who first accused his uncle Danish Hasnain, 31, of having strangled and killed Saman, had always denied knowing where the body may have been concealed.
Saman’s family members are five investigated. In addition to Danish, suspected of being the material perpetrator of the “punitive” murder, also two cousins and the girl’s parents, Shabbar Abbas 45 years old and her mother Nazia Shaheen of 48, who would have attracted their daughter into a trap in order to get rid of that girl who had “shamed” them in the eyes of their relatives by refusing an arranged marriage with a cousin in Pakistan. In the next few hours, therefore, the searches and coring in the many greenhouses present in the air of the farm where Saman’s family worked will intensify.
