PS5 e PS4 will support the cross-play with the other platforms in an increasingly convinced way: Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said in an interview.
Indeed the position of PlayStation regarding this feature it has never been among the most open and available, just think of the recent episode of Borderlands 3, devoid of cross-play on PS5 and PS4 due to the refusal of certification by the Japanese company.
Similar situations have occurred abundantly in the past, but apparently Sony has been convinced to change from that point of view, trying to make the exclusive interest of the players in the field of online experiences.
“We support and encourage cross-play,” said Ryan, noting that this feature is now available for a variety of highly successful titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Call of Duty: Warzone, Minecraft and, soon, Destiny 2.
“This number will continue to grow,” added the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, thus ensuring a much more flexible approach from now on towards productions that want to implement cross-play.
