Tears in the courtroom: “I expected a life sentence for all the defendants”
Ansa / CorriereTv
“It’s a very bad time, one of my daughter’s killers is free. I did not have justice, I expected a completely different sentence. I don’t know how it can get out, I was expecting life imprisonment for all the defendants. “This is the comment of Barbara Mariottini, Desirée’s mother, at the end of the reading of the sentence. The judges of the Third Court of Assizes of Rome have sentenced Gara and Salia to life imprisonment and Chima and Minthe respectively at 27 and 24 years of imprisonment. Minthe, however, returns free due to the expiry of the terms of tutelary custody. Desirée Mariottini two and a half years ago was found lifeless in an abandoned building in via dei Lucani in San Lorenzo district in Rome.
