The three finals reached so far this season (with the win in Belgrade, the defeat in Madrid and Queen’s today) combined with the round of 16 at the Australian Open and the quarter-finals at Roland Garros, are earning a lot of points to Matteo Berrettini both in ranking Atp, both – above all – in the Race for the Atp Finals.
On the eve of the final of the ATP 500 of the Queen’s against the host Cameron Norrie, in fact, Matteo has 4,268 points in the live world ranking and, if he wins, he could reach 4,468, always remaining in position number 9, but reaching less than 400 points away from Roger Federer, standing at 4,815.
Even more interesting is the Race to Turin, the ranking that ranks the best tennis players of 2021, the first eight of whom will take part in the ATP Finals, which this year will take place for the first time in the Piedmontese capital. Well, in this ranking Berrettini consolidated his seventh position, reaching 2.105 points for now and trailing Aslan Karatsev in eighth position, stopped at 1,775 points.
In ninth position is Jannik Sinner, at 1,510. If Matteo were to triumph at Queen’s, he would reach 2,305 points, just 285 points away from world number two Daniil Medvedev, who in the Race he is only sixth.
