The carabinieri of the operational nucleus of the Roma Eur company and those of the Roma Villa Bonelli station gave a face to the robber who, disguised as a vigilante, in less than a month, had scored three hits in the bank between the Magliana, Marconi and Testaccio districts . It is a 47-year-old Roman, residing in Fiumicino, tracked down and arrested in execution of an order for the application of the precautionary measure of the obligation of daily presentation in the barracks. – continue below –

The investigations, directed by the public prosecutor of the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Lucia Lotti, were triggered after three armed robberies carried out, with the same modus operandi, on 30 April in a bank in via Oderisi da Gubbio, on May 6 in a bank in via della Magliana and May 18 in a bank in via Mastro Giorgio. The robber, who entered the institutions with vigilante equipment – operational suit, multipocket jacket, badge and “fake” plaque – pistol in hand, had the cash kept at the counters delivered at that time, for a total of about 10 thousand EUR. – continue below –

The military managed to collect serious evidence of guilt against the 47-year-old thanks to a scrupulous analysis of the images of the video surveillance of the banks and escape routes. Also identified the “den” of the criminal, a hotel room in Fiumicino, where the blitz that led to the arrest of the man and the seizure of the pistol was triggered, a scacciacani without a red cap, simulating a Beretta 92 pistol, together to the “vigilante kit”, used to consume robberies.
